Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child of her homemaker mother and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being a court reporter. She began modelling at the age of 14 and later landed commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. Her first job as an actor came when she was a young, innocent girl in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress, appearing in many films, television shows, and dramas. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
